Powerpoint Presentation Template

Boise State powerpoint examplePresentations are an inherent and important part of university life and business. Not only do presentations showcase the knowledge and expertise of the presenter, they also reflect on the university as a whole. Therefore, the look and delivery of the presentation is as important as the content. For most people, the first time they experience the university will either be through a presentation or the website.

All presentations off campus or outside the Boise State classrooms must include the university logo and, if using color, the school colors – blue and orange as specified on Official Colors, should be used. Powerpoint templates utilizing the Boise State University Brand Standards are available for download. If you use your own design, you should follow the university brand colors and typefaces. Your audience is likely to visit the university’s website before and/or after your presentation, so a sense of continuity and consistency is important. The university prescribed templates reflect the website design.

As with advertisements and all other public communications, the university should be identified as Boise State University on first reference according to Referencing the University.

Stationery

Stationery

Stationary ExampleStationery, both printed and electronic, and business cards are universally used across campus. They are the foundation of Boise State’s visual identity program. Adherence to the stationery standards enhances the university’s professional image and strengthens our brand as well as saving the university money. All Boise State business cards, stationery and envelopes must be ordered through University Printing and Graphic Services. Printing and Graphic Services also offer standard forms of memo pads and note cards and can also create custom note cards, leaflets, brochures and other communication materials.

Individual schools, departments and other units may not create their own stationery or envelopes without permission from the Brand Committee (brand@boisestate.edu). Because of the potential for poor quality, departments are not allowed to design their own stationery on personal computers, nor is it permitted to have stationery printed at off-campus locations.

Business Cards

The standardized business card format must be used by those who are employed by the university. The vertical version of the logo is used on all Boise State University business cards.

To ensure consistency, Printing and Graphic Services produces all Boise State business cards from approved templates. Individual schools, departments and other units may not alter the prescribed business card design and format without permission from the Brand Committee (brand@boisestate.edu). Because of the potential for poor quality, departments are not allowed to create and design their own business cards on personal computers, nor is it permitted to have business cards printed at off-campus locations.

  • Usage guidelines for the University Signature Mark applies to business cards.
  • Information printed on business cards should fit the template design shown in the samples above. There shall be no deviation from the positioning of the various elements of the business card.  All the information other than name, title and department, should fit into the two columns at the bottom of the card, up to a maximum of four rows.
  • The format of each card is consistent and may not be changed, including the size and color of the logo, color of the paper, paper stock, type size and fonts utilized. The template provides space for an individual’s name and title, unit name, the university address, office phone number, fax number and e-mail address. Other information can also be added such as cell phone number, office location or Web address, as long as it fits in the space provided.
  • The top line, usually the name of the individual, aligns with the B symbol in the University Signature Mark, as shown in the sample above. In some instances, the top line may be the name of a unit within the university. A unit name may be printed in bold type with the individual’s name underneath it in regular type if a unit so chooses.
  • Printing and Graphic Services can assist in creating modifications that meet the unit’s needs within the basic template design.
  • No graphic images other than the university logo may be displayed on Boise State business cards. The University Signature Mark is to be used on business cards rather than the specific companion logos for schools, colleges, departments, units, centers, institutes or facilities in order to maintain the consistency and integrity of the university identity.
  • One and two-sided versions of the business cards are available.  The second side of the business card must use the prescribed format (the University Signature Mark, or if applicable, and if approved, for affiliated organizations, the applicable affiliate logo).
  • Currently, units are advised not to add additional information to the other side of the business card.  The business card provides contact information.  Marketing information should reside on your website and printed marketing materials.

Business Cards are ordered through Boise State Printing and Graphics.

The ordering template is in the process of being updated.

Electronic Letterhead

As with business cards and physical stationery, electronic letterheads are produced from approved templates to ensure consistency.  The layout of the letterhead as described in the Boise State Brand Standards may not be redesigned.

Boise State letter head

This template for electronic letterheads is to be used only for communications sent via e-mail or other digital platforms. It is not intended to replace official university stationery.

Electronic letterheads should not be printed out and used for mailing, as the integrity of the colors and branding could be compromised. It contains low-resolution images and does not reproduce well when printed, especially due to the fact that color reproduction varies from printer to printer.

Electronic letterheads may be department specific, but the header should not include personalized names.  Vice Presidents and Deans may order letterheads personalized with their title.

Electronic letterheads are available to order through University Printing and Graphic Services.
